Ham’s F12 is the preferred medium for supporting the growth of rodent-origin cells, particularly rabbit and rat cells. It has proven to be an excellent cloning medium for the culture of myeloma and hybrid cells. Ham’s F12 medium is often used with dialyzed serum, hormones, selenium, and other supplements.
Since Ham’s F12 medium does not contain proteins or growth factors, serum supplementation is recommended depending on the cell type and application.
This formulation does not contain sodium bicarbonate.
