Alpha-MEM medium (aMEM) is an adaptation of Minimum Essential Medium (MEM) that includes non-essential amino acids, sodium pyruvate, thioctic acid, vitamin B12, biotin, and ascorbic acid.
Alpha-MEM medium is suitable for a wide range of mammalian cells in both suspension and adherent cultures, such as keratinocytes, primary rat astrocytes, and human melanoma cells. It is commonly used for culturing mesenchymal stem cells.
Biosera’s aMEM lacks L-Glutamine, ribonucleosides, and deoxyribonucleosides.
