Minimum Essential Medium (MEM) is among the most frequently used cell culture media. It has shown the capability to sustain a wide range of both normal and transformed cells in culture.
In this formulation, Earles’ salts have been substituted with Hanks’ salts. Additionally, it contains HEPES buffer at a concentration of 25mM.
This formulation does not include L-Glutamine.
