Medium 199 was created specifically for the culture of non-transformed cells. It is extensively used in virology, vaccine production, and for the in vitro culture of primary explants from mouse pancreatic epithelial tissue.
Formulated with Hanks salts, Medium 199 does not contain L-Glutamine or sodium bicarbonate.
Biosera advises adding 10% fetal bovine serum to the medium.
