CMRL 1066 is a medium formulated for the cultivation of mouse L-strain cells without a protein supplement. Although initially designed for serum-free conditions, it can also support the growth of various cell lines in the presence of serum. This medium is known for sustaining the cloning of monkey kidney cells.
Its formulation includes L-Glutamine and does not contain sodium bicarbonate.
