EDTA cell detachment solution is a solution containing EDTA, used as a gentle non-enzymatic dissociation reagent in place of trypsin. This chelating agent dissociates cells by lysing the cytoplasmic bridges that connect them.
Less aggressive than trypsin, EDTA cell detachment solution is particularly useful for studies on cell growth and phenotype.
