Medium 199 was designed for the culture of non-transformed cells. It is widely used in virology, vaccine production, and for the in vitro culture of primary explants from mouse pancreatic epithelial tissue.
Formulated with Earle’s salts, Medium 199 does not include sodium bicarbonate but contains L-Glutamine and 25mM HEPES.
Biosera recommends adding 10% fetal bovine serum to the medium.
