Minimum Essential Medium (MEM) is one of the most commonly used cell culture media. This medium has demonstrated the ability to support a wide variety of normal and transformed cells in culture. It contains Earle’s Balanced Salts, making it suitable for use in CO2-enriched atmospheres.
Its formulation is L-Glutamine-free and contains Non-Essential Amino Acids (NEAA).
