Minimum Essential Medium (MEM) is one of the most widely used cell culture media. This medium has proven effective in supporting a variety of normal and transformed cells in culture and contains Earle’s Balanced Salts, making it suitable for use in CO2-incubated environments.
The formulation with Earle’s salts excludes sodium bicarbonate but includes L-Glutamine and non-essential amino acids.
