Ham’s F12 medium is the medium of choice for supporting the growth of rodent cells, particularly those of rabbits and rats. It is also an excellent cloning medium for the culture of myelomas and hybrid cells. Ham’s F12 medium is frequently used with dialyzed serum, hormones, selenium, and other supplements.
Since Ham’s F12 medium does not contain protein or growth factors, it is recommended to add serum depending on the cell type and application.
